Welcome to the Milky Way Lactation and Postpartum Counseling!
Our specialty is in Mothering the Mother and complete Postpartum Maternity Care. At the Milky Way, you can hire a doula to help with breastfeeding, teach newborn massage or have complete postpartum care which would include all services! We also offer breast pump rentals and products through the Milky Way Boutique!
Support May Include - Breastfeeding Education, Newborn Care, Baby Soothing Techniques, Baby Wearing, Nutrition (light snacks and refreshments), Family Support, Infant Laundry, Light Housekeeping (kitchen clean up), Errands (mommy/baby recovery related), Resources, Referals and Creating a Postpartum Plan.
Training - our doula has been trained through Dona Interna-
tional and holds a Bachelors Degree in the field of Health
Science. She is also a Certified Lactation Educator and
Counselor trained at UCSD and is Certified as a Newborn Massage Instructor.
Organizations - currently we are members of Dona International, La Leche League International, DASC (Doulas of Southern California), Postpartum Support International, and Postpartum Health Alliance.
